Only organic ingredients go into a natural baking process to make Purebread.
From the beginning, every Purebread packet has the following statement:
Purebread is certified organic. The Bio-Gro certificate is your guarantee. Bio-Gro is an organic certifying authority recognised internationally. Purebread and Paraoa Bakehouse earned Bio-Gro certificate through the use of organic ingredients, and a natural baking process.
The grains and honey grown for Purebread are from Bio-Gro certified farms, regularly audited over a minimum period of five years to ensure they maintain rigorous standards, no artificial herbicides or pesticides, sustainable management practices and mimumum use of non-renewable energy. Purebread is proudly organic – Guaranteed!
The Bio Gro certification process
BioGro Domestic Organic Certification is designed for primary producers who supply the domestic market only.
The conversion process for BioGro Domestic Certification took 36 months. Purebread had to pass through three stages in the process:
Year 1: C0 registration, Year 2: C1 conversion, and Year 3: C2 conversion before the property gains BioGro Domestic Certification.
The first audit determined the conversion status of our property. To move from registration to conversion (C1 and C2) stages to fully certified, Purebread needed to demonstrate compliance with the BioGro NZ Organic Standards through annual renewal applications and audits.
Once Purebread achieved full certification we have been audited annually.
