Butter Chicken

This classifies as comfort food. This is a quick and very non-traditional way to produce butter chicken, but it’s easy and tastes good!

1Sauté the onion and garlic in the butter

2Mix the spices and salt and combine with the chicken pieces in a bowl, stirring to cover them well.

3Sauté the chicken pieces in the butter – onion mix until golden brown.

4Add cream and tomato paste.

5Cover and simmer for another ten minutes or until cooked through.

6Serve with rice and vegetables or a salad of your choice.


30g butter

1 onion, chopped

1 clove garlic, crushed

500g boneless chicken breast, cut into bite-sized pieces

1 tsp ground ginger

1/8 tsp mild chilli powder

1 tsp turmeric

1 tsp cinnamon

1 tsp salt

¾ cup fresh cream, or a half and half mix of cream and unsweetened yoghurt, or just plain thick unsweetened yoghurt

2 tbsp tomato paste
