Fish in Caper Butter

This is shamelessly lifted from the Fish and Shellfish cookery book given to me long ago by one of the original authors (who was my flatmate even longer ago!). So, many thanks to Jenny Brasted and the rest of the team for a great recipe that couldn’t be easier or tastier.

  • Cook: 10 mins


1Cook the fish fillets in the melted butter, turning once, until almost cooked through.

2Add the lemon juice, capers and parsley and cook an extra minute or two, turning once, until the fish is cooked.

3Serve with vegetables or salad.


500g skinless, boneless fish fillets

30 to 50g butter

2 tbsp lemon juice

2 tbsp capers, roughly chopped

2 tbsp chopped parsley
